I spent the morning moving things around in the studio and staging things a bit. As you know I am not selling right now but stock piling for the store opening, so it is/was kind of a mess of pieces waiting to be painted and others finished. I moved most of the unfinished pieces into my basement and I will be working on finishing them up over the next few weeks. Once they are finished I will bring them back out to the studio while I wait to move into the new space.

Some of you have asked me about when the new space is opening. The plan is for me to move in the first few weeks of January and by mid-January I will be open Friday and Saturday afternoons {exact times to still be determined} and Monday-Thursday by appointment. I plan on working in the space, so it will be no big deal to set an appointment to come during the week. Chances are I will be already there {I might be in my painting clothes though!}.

Here are two pieces I finished last week. The first is a beach cottage inspired buffet. I did a heavy distressing {way more than my usual} and stripes on this piece. I still have to line the drawers, but I am looking for the perfect paper.

I also finished this tall grey dresser. This was primed, then painted in a light grey porch paint in gloss, distressed around the edges, then sealed with a wipe on poly in gloss, and then I added vintage glass knobs {not original to the piece}.

Now that most of my unfinished pieces are in the basement I am feeling much more organized and excited for the shop.

One more thing about the shop, I am planning on having a kids play area. So all you moms have no excuse but to come visit me and feel comfortable bringing your little ones along.
