Ding ding ding I am on a roll! I have painted some of my most favorite pieces of all time this week.
This beauty is just a simple white painted with milk paint.
I lightly distressed then waxed with clear wax. I will probably do another coat of wax and buff before I bring it to the store.
I sprayed the pulls with a high gloss black because I can't leave anything alone.
She will be at the store Saturday.
I need to shower now. I have paint in my hair, on my hands, and dust all over my clothes.

Oh I absolutely LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI hope in the future you'll post prices on your blog (I am always trying to convince my husband to buy your stuff and prices would help). :)
Also, I LIKE that you didn't distress this one much. My husband won't let me buy anything that is TOO distressed, and so many things these days are. I was excited when I saw on facebook that you were only doing minimal distressing to this one! :)
I go back and forth on whether or not to post prices on pieces online. I feel strongly that a person needs to see a piece before they know the price. I try very hard to paint a piece professionally and it is more evident in person than online. Does this make sense? Feel free to email me about prices though themoderncottage@yahoo.com. As far as distressing goes, I like to look at a pieces before I paint it and decide what would look best. If there is veneer issues or layers of paint it gets heavily distressed. Plus I just get bored painting cleanly and distressing is my favorite part in the painting process, wierd fact.
ReplyDeleteWish I could make this mine - but I say that about all your pieces. You are so very talented. One day I want to drive up there and see your shop - with a large truck of course!
ReplyDeleteIt's just gorgeous Betsy!!!
ReplyDeleteXOX
Hi there, Another prize! I sell the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint and wondered if you used a bonding agent with the paint, to keep it from distressing. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love this piece. I wish I had a shop to paint furniture in. This gives me the painting bug!
