m a s t e r b e d r o o m d o n e!
I did it, I finished my mini-bedroom freshening up.
Remember this is what it looked like {I lived with this color I hated for two and a half years, and all those holes I couldn't patch because I didn't have touch up paint!}
Now look....
My first attempt at painting this room was a bit of a miss, the color was too light. I did what most people do and chickened out on the bolder color. It didn't look right, there was not enough of a difference in color between the walls and the molding...so back to the paint store I went. This time I took my toile pillow and had them match the color. I love it now, very fresh.
Now my antique painted furniture and the white linens stands out more. You can see my new pillows that I made and previously posted, as well as a new throw I got at Target last week { $12 for clearance king size, and it is soft}. I don't even mind the 80's sconces with the new paint color.
I think it has a beach cottage feel with the white, soft blue-green, and sand colors.
I added sea-grass where I could {like this basket by my bed} to add texture.
Sea-grass baskets added for under farmhouse dresser.
I also replaced my blue dupioni silk drapes with white gauzy panels. It makes the room so much brighter. If anyone is looking for six curtain panels, you can have mine!
On another note....I have been painting all of my black antique furniture in my living room with the white porch paint I got and I am LOVING how it looks, so pretty. You would never know it was porch paint. It adds a lovely hint of gloss and I think it will be very durable.
Photo's of the painted furniture sometime next week.
Also, I just noticed that now that I re-painted my bedroom it matches my blog, he he!
Love the color! And those light fixtures are great! We have similar ones in our kitchen and foyer.
ReplyDeleteI like your paint color, but I am a pillow addict, so I really like those! Your room is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe room is beautiful now, Alison - very trendy! Aren't you glad you went back for that deeper wall color? I would have never known the sconces are that old. They look quite stylish against your new wall color.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to the party. I love seeing your projects.
Blessings,
