w i n d o w   a r t    g a l l e r y

We have lived with bare windows in my family room for a few years. This room looks out to our side yard, so we don't really need window treatments for privacy. Occasionally the sun comes through the windows and makes it hard to see the tv and in the winter this room can get pretty cold with 100 year old windows, but for the most part I am ok without curtains or blinds in this room.

{did you notice the new picnic bench I painted for under my kids/craft table?}

Since my kids are eight and six, I have so much really cool artwork that they have done. I wanted to come up with a way of showing there artwork in this room. I have no idea how I got the idea to hang the pictures in the windows and I know it is a little wacky, but I like it.

Seeing the kids artwork makes me happy and truly makes this room a family room.

  1. I love those blue accents you have throughout the room! Do you know what color that might be?

  2. Your room looks great and I too love your paint color choices, they all coordinate so well. What is your favorite paint and colors?? I understand if you want to keep it a secret... I am suffering from the too much brown syndrome and would love to add some color.

    The color blue is Caribe by Behr, the wall color is Willows Gold by Dutch Boy and my favorite white is Simply White by Benjamin Moore. I am going to do a question and answer post one of these days. You guys as me a question {anything you are curious about} and I will answer.

  6. I really love it! My kids (23,21,14)have always been artists and I can't even think about getting rid of most of it. It means so much to me and brings back moments almost like photos do. I frame some of it but I want to enjoy alll of it. I started to hang things on the insides of my cabinets. I get to see it everyday and not have to save it in boxes or bins.
    thanks for sharing a super cute idea.
