I think I know the answer to my own question but I would like your opinion.
I was out shopping for the studio and I found this table. I bought this table with the intention of painting it yellow and putting it in my shop.
But I fell in love with it, and I decided that the oak side table I had in my living room would be replaced by the new table and I will sell the oak table {I also bought fabulous knobs for the oak table and it is now in the shop}
Now that I am keeping the table- should I paint it black, white, or keep natural?
I am thinking of keeping it natural. It has a sort of beachy-driftwood feel that goes well with the blue's, whites, and seagrass. I also feel I have enough "anchor" pieces in the room and the wood might be a fun departure from the rest of the painted pieces.
What do you think?
Oh, I love it the cool blue it already is! Tranquil, soothing. I love it! Wish I could find a beauty like that.

I don't think you should paint it. I love the rustic feel it has and the connection to your seagrass. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep it natural. Great contrast with the other pieces in the room.
ReplyDeleteNatural, it looks great, love your decorating style!!!
ReplyDeleteNatural all the way!

Definitely love it with the natural wood finish. I think mixing painted and natural wood finishes gives a room a great, layered look. And that little table definitely looks great au naturale.
ReplyDeleteI love the natural look--it brings in extra warth! The table really is darling :)
ReplyDeletewarmth...oops :)
ReplyDeleteI vote natural. I like the texture of this piece and how it creates a contrast w/ the rest of the room.
ReplyDeleteNatural for sure. Looks beautiful in the room. Jackie
ReplyDeleteNatural!! It has a perfect worn look just like it is. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the natural! Looks great in the room - xo Ashlyn
ReplyDeletei like it as is... i think a little wood adds warmth to a room. :)
ReplyDeleteI love black and I love white but I think the natural look blends so well with what you have going on. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like the contrast of the natural look thrown in. I have a similar natural table with an awesome wooden checkerboard sitting on it that my son made in High school woodworking class. He even make the round chips out of wood!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue table it matches for living room! I cant wait to get out and do some shopping for furniture.
ReplyDeleteHi Alison!
ReplyDeleteI am writing to solicit some of your expert advice. I love your blog and your creations and would love some advisement. I scored some beautiful pieces of antique furniture for FREE today and wondered what I should do with them - paint or not? Would you mind sending me some thoughts and ideas my way? Stacey I am off to bed {long long day} and I will email you tomorrow but I did pop over and check out your finds and oh my lady- you got some fantastic finds! I would say first of all paint all of the pieces, for sure.
ReplyDeleteLeave it naked. That way all your pieces pop and are not too matchy matchy,
