{Also, if you are interested in guest posting a fhf email me! I would love it}
I really love the house she chose, the colors are right up my alley.
Hi, Iím Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, a fabulous social media site where you can browse through tens of thousands of photos of design projects from around the world. I love seeing what house Alison chooses every week for Favorite House Friday. Love the farmhouse on Bainbridge Island. As an East Coast girl, I chose another island for my guest post for Favorite House Friday: Nantucket. Owning a cottage there is a dream. Thanks for letting me pretend for a bit. My choice for Favorite House Friday is a 1940 quintessential 'Sconset cottage in the Siascnset area of the island. So charming! Keep an eye out for some colorful cottage decorating ideas.
The shingled exterior of this 'Sconset home blends so well with the lovely landscaped yard. Weather aged shingles and white trim have so much cottage charm.
View from the porch... this is the million dollar view, isn't it? I picture painted wicker and maybe a large day bed to lounge on all summer long.
The sun porch is filled with coastal charm. Love the coastal cottage dÈcor, including the blue painted chest and the painted chairs.
Interior design details are what make cottage style so special. Love these shelves set into the staircase. Perfect idea for more storage in a small space.
The living room is not huge but perfectly proportioned for cottage living. A white painted brick fireplace is so charming and centers the room. Love how two doors lead to the sun porch and ocean breezes.
The master bedroom is on the top floor and has a gabled ceiling that creates many angles. Love the French doors and transom window that allow light to pass from the bathroom into the bedroom, making the space feel larger.
Looking for cottage kitchen design ideas? I think the kitchen is my favorite room in this house. Love the vaulted, beamed ceiling that makes the small room feel so open. But my favorite is the flooróso gorgeous!
The single car garage could easily be converted to a guest cottage, studio, or home office. Love the trellises that frame the†double wide†doorway. Images ( 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 )

My favorite room is the kitchen. I love the floor. Super cute. I'd be afraid to try it though...
